A tribute to Ghazal King JAGJIT SINGH !!!!!

I was really shocked to get the news that my favorite ghazal singer Jagjit Singh ji passed away today. He is considered to be the pioneers of modern Ghazal singing and regarded as most successful recording artist outside the realm of Indian film music. He has sung in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Sindhi and Nepali languages. He was awarded India's third highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan.

He composed many albums, from which The Unforgettables (1976),Main aur Meri Tanhaayee (1981), Ecstasies (1984),A Sound Affair (1985),Ghazals from Films (1989),Man Jite Jagjit (1990),Memorable Ghazals of Jagjit and Chitra (1990),Sajda (Two Volumes with Lata Ji) (1991) are a few.

Its indeed a great loss for his fans like me and also for the entire world..

May his soul rest in peace........

***You will always be remembered ***
