My Current Favourites : Skin care, Body care and Hair Care !!!

hey gorgeous !!!

Its end of July. I remember doing my last Jan/Feb favourites here. After that I just got busy with other posts and never exactly got a chance to do a "Favourite" post. But now I have really accumulated a lot of favs, so its time I talk about it.

SKIN CARE
Its been years I am using this as my facial moisturiser.I have raved about it earlier here. It makes my skin well moisturised without breaking me out. It has a tint, so sometimes when I am at home or just going out for shopping, I can totally skip my foundation. Its like my holy grail Moisturiser.

I am getting few white heads around my nose lately and so I have been ex-foliating my face twice/thrice a week. For this I have choose St. Ives Apricot Scrub. This is quite gentle on my face. The particles aren't harsh or rough. So I can totally exfoliate twice or even thrice a week without irritating my skin.

I have never been into toning. But now that I have started using a toner, I have seen a difference on my skin.I am applying Clean n Clear toner from past 3months and I am totally in love with it. Its helping me control oiliness and visible pores. Its good for acne prone skin so there is no break out at all.

For my lips, I am using my Sugar Lip Scrub ones a week (which I talked about here ) and after that I am using moisturising my lips with Maybelline Baby lips. It keeps my lips soft smooth and glossy. I use it under my lipstick also.

BATH and BODY CARE

I am loving my Pomegranate Spa Exfoliating Bath Scrub from Guardian. It smells yummy and exfoliate my skin properly.

For my all over moisturiser, I have been slathering on the Johnson Body Care lotion. It has a nice fruity smell and it keep my skin well hydrated.

For my elbows and knees, I am using the Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter. I dont need to say anything about it cause the Body Shop's body butters are awesome.

I am totally in love with Nivea Whitening Happy Shave Deo. Apart from its prime purpose, it moisturises my under arms without irritating it after shaving.
HAIR CARE

I have been struggling with dry itchy scalp for quite a long time. But finally I got a solution for it. Oil massage has really helped me get rid of the dryness and eventually itching. I massage oil on my scalp and leave it for 2 to 4hrs and then Shampoo my hair with Head and Shoulders shampoo for dry scalp. These two products have worked wonder and now my scalp is happy.

Next is my Loreal Smooth intense anti Frizz Serum. I am in love with it. It does exactly what it says. No frizz, No dryness, No tangles, and a smooth finish. See complete review here
Well guys, these are my favourite Skin care, Body care and Hair care products. I will do a separate post for my favourite Makeup Products soon.
If you have any question about any of these products do ask me in the comment section.

So what are your Favourites ???

A Simple Solution to Dry, Chapped, Burnt Lips : Sugar Lips Scrub

hey guys
I have been totally into "CHINESE TEAs" lately.Me and my hubby had made it a tradition to have a cup of tea after dinner. It had really helped us in our digestion.
I had never been a addictive tea/coffee drinker in my whole life. So when it comes to drinking anything 'HOT', I end up burning my tongue and this time it was my lips. My lips got dry and roasted, it was hurting like hell. But I didn't want to stop drinking tea cause it was helping me with my digestion. So I started finding a at home solution for my dry lips. "LIPS SCRUB"
Again I was not willing to spend money on expensive lips scrubs and I didnt trust cheap scrubs. So I started doing my own SUGAR LIPS SCRUB at home.
And trust me guys its super easy and super effective. And you don't need to spend a fortune.

HOW TO PREPARE !!!
  • Grab some lip balm onto your finger. I prefer my ring finger as its the lightest one.
  • Take some sugar(probably few pinch) on a tissue and dip the balm coated finger on to it.
  • The sugar crystals will stick to you fingers.
  • Now rub the sugar+balm finger all over your lips gently to ex foliate.
  • When you are done wipe your lips with a tissue.
  • Dont forget to apply a thick quote of lipbalm on your lips after exfoliation.
This will make your lips soft and will help get rid of dryness.

The Balmology : Mary - Lou Manizer Luminizer Review

This is my fourth The Balm product.
First was HOT MAMA here , second was CABANA BOY here, third was FRAT BOY here and now its MARY - LOU MANIZER aka the LUMINIZER.
As the name suggests its an universal highlighter i.e. can be used any where you want a nice glow.
Well I was really looking for a highlighter from the longest time and then after reading tons of positive review about this product and obviously after my great experience with the balm products, I made my mind to buy the Mary-Lou manizer. But to my luck whenever I went to Sasa or several Sasas this was out of stock.
Finally I got my hands over this product. Ok so long story short finally the Mary-Lou Manizer is caught ;)

PACKAGING and AVAILABILITY
  • Oh my !! look at this cute Mugshot packaging. I just love theBalm packaging. Its amazing.
  • It comes with a decent size mirror and has a tons of product in there.
  • Its retails for rm 72 at SASA (but I got in for 50rm woo hoo offer offer).
MY VERDICT

  • Its a beautiful soft shimmering champagne with golden micro shimmers.
  • Its shimmery but not glittery or heavy or like the one which makes you look like disco ball. It gives you a nice glow.
  • It gives a noticeable glow on any skin tones.
  • Its highly pigmented so a slight tap of brush is enough. You need to tap the tiniest amount and blend it on to the area you want to highlight.
  • Caution : Do not use a heavy hand cause this may attract attention to some imperfections like pores or fine lines. But if you apply it with a light loose hand and blend it well, it can give you a lovely shine.
  • It has a smooth texture which is not powdery and blends easily.
  • This is an universal highligher.I use it on my cheekbones, on the inner corner of  my eyes, and some times over a eyeshadow to give a nice shimmer look.
OK???? weird face but this was the only pic that showed the glow :)

Its a HIT for me and I love to catch the MARY-LOU MANIZER :)

Lets Prepare : Bread Pakoras

hi lovelies.
Its afternoon time and I am hungry !!! So lets prepare BREAD PAKORAS

Bread Pakoras are a great appetizer or a tea time snack.

INGREDIENTS:
  • White Bread
  • 1 cup Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 1/2 cup Corn Flour
  • Salt
  • Cumin Powder
  • Garam Masala Powder (easily available in any Indian store)
  • Chaat Masala / Mango Powder (to give a flavour)
  • Water to mix the ingredients
  • Oil to fry
  • You can also add spinach or cilantro and green chillies to the batter. But I like it this way.
NOTE : amount of ingredients can vary according to the number of bread pakoras or size of bread.

METHOD
  • Take a bowl and add all the dry ingredients.
  • Mix well without adding water.
  • Then start adding water and mixing it to form a smooth Batter / Semi Liquid mixture.
  • Keep it aside for 2-3mins.
  • In the mean time remove all the four brown sides from the bread.
  • Slice the bread according to your choice. Length wise or Diagonally.
  • Now heat oil.
  • You can check if oil is hot or not by putting a drop of the batter in it. If the batter comes up, then oil is hot.
  • Dip the bread slices in the batter one at a time and slowly drop into the frying pan.
  • The pakoras will take about 4 to 5 minutes to cook.
  • Turn them occasionally. Fry the Pakoras until both sides are golden-brown.
  • Crispy, yummy Bread Pakoras are ready to serve.
  • Serve it with sauce or chutney.

The next time when you have a get together, do serve these yummy snacks to your guests and get praised !!!

Love
Appy

FOTD : Golden Blue Eyes

hey beautiful....
Todays look is a sparkly Blue eyes with a hint of gold.

  • Prime your eyes.
  • Take a VIBRANT BLUE/ AQUA shade in a fluffy blending brush and apply it on the inner part and the outer corner of the eyelid blending it along the crease.Make sure the blue/aqua from both the corner are not fully connected with each other.Try to fade the blues /aqua  along the crease.
  •  Build up the intensity on both the corners by taking a DARK BLUE shade on a pencil brush and apply it on both corners. Treat both corners as outer V.
  • After blending it well, take a GOLD shade and apply it on the center of the eye lid blending it with blues /aqua  and kind of separating the blues /aqua  from each other.
